Making Eco-Friendly shoes is always a challenge for shoe designers and shoe brands.
Using vegetable-tanned leather, organic cotton and recycled mesh Innolux has created a new version of sneakers, which are not only Eco-Friendly but also fashionable and cool.
The sneakers designed with a classical trainer look using white EVA midsole and natural rubber outsole.
The vegetable-tanned leather used for the upper is chrome free, free of heavy metals and chemicals - made by traditional tanning technics using wet-white skin. The leather was received by the shoe factory in Vietnam as crust leather in natural beige colour. In order to create fashion hand-made effect - the leather was hand-coloured and hand-finished with cream and wax [Kenda Farben products] after the upper cut accordingly to the pattern.
The lining is made of organic cotton and the other parts of the upper are made of recycled mesh that was especially developed for this project.
Even the adhesive used by the factory during the shoes assembling process is Eco-Friendly water based glue. As expected also the shoebox is made of recycled paper.
